Question #1 : You LOST the Number?

Okay, so I’m finally back after so much constant nagging, prodding, and did I mention nagging by someone who will not be mentioned at this time. (Thank You J)

“Look, if I want to talk to someone whose number I’ve lost, I’m gonna text, call, and email anyone I have to get it. I’m not desperate”
- UCLA Alumni Grad

So here I am with the second installation of my blog, and this time I will be talking about phone numbers. Not so much in the sense of getting someone’s number, but actually losing their number. The RETRIEVAL process that one has to go through in order to get it back.

SO I ASKED THE QUESTION: IF YOU LOSE SOMEONE’S NUMBER YOU ARE INTERESTED IN, WITHOUT ASKING THEM, HOW WILL YOU GET IT BACK?

  • Ask a of yours friend you know that might have it
  • Facebook/Direct Message one of their friends
  • Pray that they call you out of the blue

The results were not as startlingly as I expected when I thought about this question.

  • Ask a of yours friend you know that might have it        35%
  • Facebook/Direct Message one of their friends             12%
  • Pray that they call you out of the blue                           53%

But why is that? You say you are interested in the person, but you would rather wait until they think, “let me call them since they haven’t called me in a while”.  From experience, you might be waiting a pretty long time if you catch my drift.

Like this guy name Derek* I know. He had always been into one of his cousin’s female friends, but he never really could see her as much as he wanted to. So when he finally built up enough courage to ask, he did it, and to his own surprise she gave her number to him. He thought so long and hard about what he wanted to tell her that he ended up losing the number before he ever got to call her (to me, that’s pretty whack, but I digress). He was so desperate to talk to her, that he ended up asking his cousin for her help. You know what she told him? “Derek, I’m not gonna help you. If you want that girl’s number, you are going to have to wait until you see her again because it’s not my place.” Now you know Derek was upset, and pleaded with her for hours on end, but nothing came of it. Sadly, the boy had to wait six months before the next time he saw the girl of his so-called “dreams”. By that time, he noticed something. SHE WAS PREGNANT.

The Moral of this story is: DON’T MESS WITH FEMALES THAT GET PREGNANT.

AMEN

Look, if you think someone is right for you, give it a shot to go after him or her because you never know what will happen. They may end up pregnant, or they may get tired of waiting for you to come along. So do yourself a favor and SEE WHERE CHANCE TAKES YOU. Thank you for reading the Somewhat Naked Truth.
